No problem for the late reply. Oh ...Hey William =)

No problem for the late reply. Oh i see what you mean yes. True, its difficult to get a message of love along, while playing heavy sounding music. But there are a lot of topics in the bible, which are great to underline it with metal music and or hardrock.

It is also interesting to see, that God never says, that we have to worship him in a certain or special way, so that he is pleased. I mean when it comes down to musical instruments.

Would be kind of funny if we would read "in order to worship Jesus Christ, it has to sound like this and that".

I also love Psalm 150. Imagine all those intruments being played together. It would sound amazing for sure.

And it only says to praise God with all those instruments. It doesnt speak about sinful rhytms, beats, musical note combinations, speed, melodie, riffs, chords etc.

So obviously those things doesnt really matter, but more our intention, motivation behind it. Or in other words, the heart of the worshipper matters, because God knows us and our heart. He knows if we truly worship him. So, as long as we love him and really give all praise and glory to him, rhytm, beats etc. do really not matter.

But some people dont see that like King James from the youtube video.

God bless you.

P.s no probs for the typos =) Im swiss, so my english isnt perfect hahaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6955272444711093574.post-18490355823778137622016-01-03T20:35:07.473-08:002016-01-03T20:35:07.473-08:00Oops, few typos in there. Sorry it took me so long to reply! I do...Hey Simon! Sorry it took me so long to reply! I don't know how this comment got missed on my radar especially with such a good point and I'm glad you pointed it out. So therefore let me explain.

I too enjoy Christian hard rock, and I too LOVE it's power. I love the intensity as well. Like you said when talking about judgment or a battle, Skillet is a personal favorite of mine and I also enjoy Red! Along with others

So what my point and meaning was that the musical style should reflect the lyrics. So it's hard to talk about the love of god when sounding like wrath or hard to sound like wrath when the melody sounds like love.

Have you ever heard a song where you liked the melody and lyrics but you felt they were both oddly placed? Like they didn't fit each other? That was my more specific point.

Sorry to make that unclear. I whole heartedly agree with your statement. I make an edit to this article to be sure my point is more clearly made.

Thank you again for reading and taking the time to comment!

God bless you
Will Hess Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07554421651477557232noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6955272444711093574.post-24917431186142868292015-08-17T09:31:28.801-07:002015-08-17T09:31:28.801-07:00Hey William
Thanks for this article. I agree with...Hey William

Thanks for this article. I agree with everything, behalve what you wrote about christian hard rock music.

You wrote this

"You can’t have angry sounding music when talking about the love of God."
Why do you call it angry sounding? For me it is very powerful sounding.
What if a christian metal band does sing about the coming judgement or about the things that will happen according to revelations? Then, this heavy music is perfect to get the message along. I guess, this is just your opinion.

I personally love hardrock and metal (from christian artists). And it helps me to worship God in spirit and in truth.

The bible does even say to shout unto the lord. And to make a joyful noise. And to play loud and skillfully on a stringed instrument (Psalm 33.3).

Im glad that God created music and thus all of the musical notes. There are no sinful musical notes or note combinations. Since it is Gods creation, why not use all of them to glorify him?! An A note for example remains an A note all the time. No matter on which instrument it is played. It just sounds different. And we can play it in a higher or lower pitch.

Thanks again for your article.

God bless you
SimonAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16814622443754123491noreply@blogger.com
